Thanks to its incredible know-how, Vacheron Constantin is forever unveiling mesmerizing creations. Among the most recent to date, Les Cabinotiers Minute Repeater Tourbillon Skeleton yet again exalts one of the firm’s most iconic movements: Caliber 2755. Since 2007, this outstanding beating heart has equipped several flagship references in the Traditionnelle collection. This year, it reigns inside a one-of-a-kind timepiece that boasts spectacular character.
The absence of a dial and the masterly skeletonizing with openworked bridges and a mainplate whose volume has been reduced by 40%, invite to admire a kinetic sculpture comprising arabesque-style inner workings, adorned with a myriad of superlative finishes inherent to fine watchmaking. Drawing, straightening, beveling, rounding-off, and sandblasting are just a few of the finishes applied to some of the 473 parts that breathe life into Caliber 2755 TMR SQ.
This manual-wind movement beating at 18,000 vibrations an hour nestles inside an elegant 45 mm-diameter, 12 mm-slim rose gold case. It drives the hour, quarter, and minute on-demand chimes meticulously. Over the course of its 58-hour power reserve, the tourbillon decorated with a Maltese cross, and set at 6 o’clock, whirls round every minute. The great care taken in manufacturing, assembly, and accuracy was stamped with Poinçon de Genève (Geneva Seal) certification, issued by the Timelab Foundation.
