TAG Heuer has unveiled a new limited edition created in collaboration with Team Ikuzawa and Bamford Watch Department.
Produced in a limited edition of 150 individually numbered pieces, the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph x Team Ikuzawa draws inspiration from one of the most recognisable objects preserved in the Japanese racing team’s archives: the Roadmaster stopwatch, whose bold graphics became a defining element of Team Ikuzawa’s visual identity during the 1970s and 1980s.

Founded in 1981, Team Ikuzawa has become one of Japan’s most distinctive names in motorsport. Today, under the direction of Mai Ikuzawa, the team has expanded its influence beyond the racetrack, combining its racing heritage with contemporary design through collaborations spanning fashion, art and luxury.
For this project, Mai Ikuzawa worked alongside George Bamford, whose reinterpretation of iconic watches has earned him a distinctive place in contemporary watch design.
Based on the 39 mm TAG Heuer Carrera Glassbox, the watch retains the elegant proportions and bezel-free architecture that characterise the collection.
Crafted in fine-brushed and polished stainless steel, the case offers water resistance to 10 bar (100 metres / 330 feet) and is topped by a domed sapphire “Glassbox” crystal with double anti-reflective coating, providing an uninterrupted view of the dial and flange.
The dial receives a complete Team Ikuzawa treatment. Finished in white with a Clou de Paris texture, it echoes the team’s historic colour scheme while adopting a highly graphic appearance inspired by the original Roadmaster stopwatch.
Traditional applied hour markers give way to printed black numeral indexes, reinforcing the instrument-like character of the design.
Red accents play a central role throughout the watch. The faceted hour and minute hands feature red lacquer together with white Super-LumiNova, while the central chronograph seconds hand is entirely lacquered in red.
The minute chronograph counter at 3 o’clock is also printed in red, contrasted by a rhodium-plated hand, while the hour chronograph counter at 9 o’clock combines white printing with a red hand.
Even the angled date display at 6 o’clock receives a dedicated red date disc, beneath the printed “Carrera” and “Team Ikuzawa” signatures.
The absence of a running seconds display is made possible by the Manufacture TH20-10 automatic chronograph movement, allowing the Team Ikuzawa logo to occupy a prominent position on the dial.
This layout also recalls several historic TAG Heuer chronographs from the 1960s and 1970s, when valuable dial space was often reserved for racing teams, sponsors or special editions.
Additional details reinforce the collaborative identity of the watch. The black flange carries a contrasting white minute track, while the polished steel crown features a distinctive red lacquered ring.
The watch is fitted as standard with TAG Heuer’s seven-row stainless steel bracelet, combining brushed and polished surfaces, and secured by a double-folding clasp with safety push-buttons.
It is also supplied with two additional straps: a perforated white leather strap with red stitching and lining inspired by vintage racing gloves, and a white textile strap with twin red stripes referencing Team Ikuzawa’s historic racing livery.
Visible through the sapphire crystal caseback, the Manufacture TH20-10 calibre powers the chronograph.
Operating at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour), this automatic movement is equipped with a column wheel and vertical clutch for precise actuation, paired with a bidirectional oscillating weight that echoes the shape of the TAG Heuer shield. The movement offers a power reserve of approximately 80 hours.
The sapphire crystal caseback features dedicated Team Ikuzawa and Bamford Watch Department engravings, while each watch is individually numbered from 001 to 150.
The presentation is equally distinctive. Every watch is delivered in a bespoke presentation box inspired by the toolboxes found in racing workshops and pit garages.
Alongside the watch and the two additional straps, the set also includes a travel pouch and a selection of custom Team Ikuzawa charms designed for keys and personal accessories.
