Rolex has unveiled the new-generation Oyster Perpetual Yacht-Master II at Watches and Wonders Geneva 2026, marking a significant evolution for its specialized regatta chronograph.
This collection, which has served as a technical benchmark for competitive sailors since 2007, arrives this year with a completely overhauled design and a reengineered movement that prioritizes intuitive operation during the critical start sequence of a regatta.
Available in either Oystersteel under reference 126680 or 18 ct yellow gold under reference 126688, the watch retains its signature 44 mm diameter but introduces a restyled middle case with refined, domed sides and a thickness of 13.90 mm, presenting a more streamlined profile than its predecessor.
The most notable evolution lies in the countdown function itself. In a departure from the previous Ring Command system, the countdown is now programmed and operated exclusively via two side pushers, which have been shaped like winches as a nod to nautical hardware.
The countdown scale has moved to the flange, graduated from 10 to 0 minutes with half-minute markers shown as triangles.
For the first time in the manufacture’s history, the countdown minute and seconds hands turn counterclockwise—an innovative mechanical choice that allows the wearer to read the remaining time toward zero with heightened precision against the white matt lacquer dial.
The nautical character is further emphasized by the bidirectional rotatable bezel, fitted with a 60-minute graduated Cerachrom insert in blue ceramic.
On this new version, the first 30 minutes are graduated minute-by-minute, allowing the wearer to use the counterclockwise seconds hand to read the final half-minute of a start sequence with total accuracy.
The 100-metre waterproof Oyster case, equipped with a Triplock winding crown and integral crown guard, provides the necessary protection for a movement that has been entirely reengineered for this relaunch.
Inside beats the new calibre 4162, a self-winding mechanical chronograph movement that is exclusive to this watch.
It incorporates the patented Chronergy escapement and a blue Parachrom hairspring to ensure stability against magnetic fields and shocks. Beyond its 72-hour power reserve and precision of −2/+2 seconds per day, the movement showcases a new level of aesthetic refinement.
The bridges are embellished with Rolex Côtes de Genève—a decoration featuring a polished groove between each band—and the oscillating weight is distinctively cut out, visible to watchmakers behind the hermetically screwed-down case back.
To ensure a harmonious fit on the wrist, the three-piece link Oyster bracelet has been made slightly broader, featuring a 22 mm lug width and a slimmer Oysterlock safety clasp.
The 18 ct yellow gold version includes patented ceramic inserts inside the links to prevent wear and enhance flexibility, while both models feature the Easylink comfort extension for 5 mm of on-the-go adjustment.
The 2026 Yacht-Master II also marks the debut of a strengthened Superlative Chronometer certification, which now includes specific testing for magnetism, reliability, and sustainability alongside traditional precision and waterproofness standards. Every timepiece is accompanied by the green seal and an international five-year guarantee.
