Louis Erard and independent watchmaker Vianney Halter present the Futur Antérieur, a new collaborative model inspired by Halter’s distinctive Antiqua.
Available in Gold and Silver versions, the watch introduces a stainless steel case construction that houses two separate dials, each powered by its own automatic movement. Both versions are limited to 178 pieces.
Following their 2024 collaboration on Le Régulateur II, the two partners once again draw on the design language of the Antiqua, known for its riveted, porthole-like bezels and unconventional display.
The new watch reinterprets these elements in a different case architecture, with two raised bezels framing separate indications: one for hours and minutes, and the other for seconds.
Each dial has its own crown, decorated with six polished yellow-gilt rivets, while each bezel is visually secured by twelve matching rivets.
The stainless steel case measures 38 mm in width and 44 mm in length, with a thickness of 8.85 mm.
It is assembled from 67 components and combines circular brushing on the front, vertical brushing on the sides and polished chamfers along the edges.
Two sapphire crystals, each treated with anti-reflective coating on both sides, cover the dials. The solid case back is engraved with the collaboration name and individual edition number.
Water resistance is rated to 5 bar, equivalent to 50 metres / 165 feet.
The two versions differ primarily in their dial finishes and straps.
The Futur Antérieur Gold features yellow-gilt dials with grained baseplates, circular-brushed outer rings and polished chamfers, paired with black transfers and a black ostrich leather strap.
The Futur Antérieur Silver uses rhodium-plated dials with the same grained and circular-brushed finishes, combined with a blue ostrich leather strap.
Both models feature Vianney Halter’s signature blued steel hands.
Powering the two indications are two automatic Sellita SW100 movements, each measuring 17.2 mm in diameter and 4.8 mm in thickness. Both operate at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) and use 25 jewels.
Their oscillating weights are decorated with Côtes de Genève and engraved with the Louis Erard logo. The power reserve is typically 42 hours, with a minimum of 38 hours. One movement drives the central hours and minutes hands, while the other operates the central seconds hand.
The textured ostrich leather straps have tone-on-tone stitching, black grained calfskin linings and quick-change spring bars. They are secured by stainless steel pin buckles with brushed and polished surfaces.
The name Futur Antérieur refers to the French grammatical tense used to describe something that will have happened.
It reflects the collaboration’s combination of a design associated with Halter’s earlier work and a new construction developed with Louis Erard.
The Louis Erard x Vianney Halter Futur Antérieur Gold (ref. 22243AA01.BOA02) and Futur Antérieur Silver (ref. 22243AA07.BOA05) are each limited to 178 pieces and priced at CHF 4,950, excluding taxes.
