What We Know

When Longines launched the Master Collection in 2005, it established the line as the brand’s flagship dress watch offering—a position the line has held for two decades. Today, the Saint-Imier-based brand is announcing a comprehensive rethinking of the collection, spanning 30mm, 34mm, 39mm, and 41mm cases across some twenty new references. It’s the second significant collection update Longines has made in 2026, following the successful and much-in-demand Hydroconquest refresh announced in March.

Longines Master Collection

All twenty references share the same core design language. Cases are stainless steel throughout. The barleycorn dial texture runs across the line, though the 30mm and 34mm models offer silver barleycorn only, and offer a two-tone option with yellow or rose gold-capped bezels and matching crowns. While the 39mm and 41mm expand to include blue barleycorn options. The 41mm also adds a variant with Eastern Arabic numerals, which is not offered in any other size. All models display hours, minutes, and seconds centrally, with a date aperture at 3 o’clock.

The 30mm references are powered by the Caliber L592.5, a self-winding movement with a silicon balance spring and a power reserve of up to 45 hours. The 34mm, 39mm, and 41mm models all use the Caliber L888.5—also self-winding, also silicon balance spring—with a power reserve of up to 72 hours. Both are exclusive Longines calibers.

Across all sizes, watches are offered on stainless steel bracelets with newly designed shortened links and a redesigned folding clasp with micro-adjustment, or on alligator leather straps.

The 2026 Master Collection ranges from $2,400 for the entry 30mm steel barleycorn to $3,650 for the two-tone 34mm models with mother-of-pearl and diamond dials. The 39mm and 41mm steel references sit in between, priced uniformly at $2,650 and $2,750, respectively.

What We Think

Longines has been gaining momentum this year. In March, they announced considerable and appealing updates to the Hydroconquest, all at a very, very competitive price. Today, with the new Master Collection, they’re doing it again: strong design, solid movements, across a range of sizes that should have a little something for everybody.

The 2022 anniversary update introduced engraved barleycorn dials and Breguet-style numerals, giving the line greater visual presence, and this 2026 refresh builds on that momentum. The addition of a 30mm case—smaller than the line’s previous entry point—signals that Longines is thinking carefully about both the consumer and the market at large.

As for me, I can’t wait to get my hands on the 39mm with the blue barleycorn dial on the stainless steel bracelet. The proportions, the design, the shade of blue—all for $2,650—it’s hard to argue with. At a moment when price sensitivity remains a real conversation in this industry, Longines is making a statement with a refresh this thorough, and I’m looking forward to seeing how Longines carries this energy through the rest of the year.
