Vintage Seiko 6139-6009 “Pogue”
There are many famous vintage Seikos, but few are as iconic as the 6139 “Pogue” automatic chronograph with the yellow dial. Made famous of course by Col. William Pogue wearing one on his Skylab 4 mission in 1973, making it the first automatic chronograph worn in space! While this example isn’t the exact model, pretty much all the vintage 6139-600X models with a yellow dial are considered a “Pogue” by collectors. This example looks all original and in good shape. The case is unpolished with crisp edges and the original brushed finish, but it does have a few dings from honest use. The bright yellow dial is nice, and there is some aging to the lume on the dial and hands, not uncommon. The watch comes on the original and correct Seiko H-link bracelet. No movement picture but the watch runs per the seller.
Vintage Eterna KonTiki
Here’s a fantastic vintage Eterna KonTiki 20 with the original bracelet. Eterna made a plethora of various KonTiki models, both divers and sport/dress models. This version is the latter. The steel case is probably in the 36mm range although the seller doesn’t specify. But the case is in great shape, unpolished which for some reason is quite rare with vintage KonTikis. The fancy lugs have a nice sharp edge, and the gold caseback medallion looks in good shape as well. The silver dial is clean and original , with applied steel markers and broad steel baton hands. The large crown is slightly recessed into the case. The watch comes on the original brick-work style bracelet with Eterna signed buckle. No movement pictures but the watch runs per the seller. This is a great piece with loads of vintage swag.
Vintage Omega Genève
Next up is a gorgeous vintage Omega Geneve dress watch, with an Omega beads of rice bracelet and box and papers. The 35mm steel case is excellent with sharp edges and elegant, slim lugs. The silver dial is clean and original, with the classic Omega stick markers and stick hands. The acrylic crystal is original and even signed on the underside with the little Omega symbol. The crown is also original and signed. The watch comes on a genuine vintage Omega beads of rice bracelet, which is always so comfy to wear. The automatic Omega caliber 565 movement is super clean and runs well per the seller. The watch even comes in what I believe is an Omega service box, and with an Omega guarantee booklet. Amazing piece with all the trimmings!
Vintage LeJour Skin Diver
This LeJour dive watch is a neat piece that shouldn’t stress your watch budget. The 35mm case is chrome plated with a steel back, and the plating looks solid with no pitting. The black dial has the classic Explorer marker layout with Arabic numerals at 12, 6 and 9, and a date window at 3. The crystal looks original, with an internal date magnifier window. Nice broad steel baton hands and an arrow tipped second hand complete the look. The aluminum elapsed time bezel is in superb condition, with little to no wear. The movement is a simple 17j manual wind that looks clean and runs per the seller. This gem comes on a vintage Tropic-style rubber strap with a steel buckle.
Vintage Longines Conquest
Next up we have a scarce vintage Longines Conquest from the late 1950s. This example is in a yellow gold capped case with a steel back. The case looks excellent and unpolished, with clear chamfers on those fat lugs. The enamel Longines fish logo caseback medallion is in superb condition, which is uncommon. The two tone gold dial has applied gold arrow markers and nice gold dauphine hands. The dial is pretty clean, but does show some patina and some Radium burn from the lume in the hands. It is however original. The crystal has a crack at 12 o’clock, so that will need to be replaced. The watch even has its large and correct original crown, which does exhibit wear. There are no pictures of the movement, which is a shame as this will have the beautifully finished Longines caliber 19AS movement. Is this watch perfect? Nope. But it is a scarce one that doesn’t show up in original condition too often, especially with that caseback medallion in such brilliant shape.
Vintage Omega Seamaster 300
Going to send you off this week with a bang with this spectacular original vintage Omega Seamaster 300. This is the OG, first gen Seamaster 300 diver, reference 14755-2 from 1961. This example is as sweet as they come, all original and in incredible condition. The black dial has nicely aged lume, and those iconic hands with the large arrow tip on the minute hand as well. The 39mm steel case is excellent, with sharp edges and crystal clear caseback engraving. The original bezel is miraculously almost 50% intact, which is incredibly rare. Usually the bakelite insert is completely gone with an aftermarket insert installed. It is so rare to find even a partial original bezel insert. The acrylic crystal is original and signed on the underside with the little Omega logo. The large crown is original and signed as well. The Omega automatic caliber 552 movement is clean and beautiful, and runs well per the seller. This one will not go cheap, but it’s a rare, untouched beauty!
