Seiko Pogue 6139-6002

Here’s a sweet classic piece, a vintage Seiko 6139-6002 “Pogue” chronograph. The title says 1971, but the serial number dates this to August 1973. The “Pogue” nickname refers to Colonel William Pogue who famously wore his yellow dial 1972 Seiko 6139-6005 for his Skylab 4 space mission in late 1973/early 1974. Even though this isn’t the exact Pogue model, pretty much any yellow dialed 6139-600X is referred to as that. The 6139-600X is a superb watch, with killer style and robust construction. The squarish case is instantly recognizable, as is the bright yellow dial. This example is in excellent condition. The case is unpolished with the original brushed finish and crisp edges, the dial is super clean as are the hands. The ‘Pepsi’ tachymeter bezel has a light fade to it, and the watch comes on the correct original H-link steel bracelet. The seller states the watch runs well. This is a very popular watch, and one that is increasingly hard to find in good, original condition at auction.

Vintage Lemania Chronograph

Next is a great looking vintage 1970s Lemania chronograph. This one has a definite 70s style, with the chunky cushion case that looks unpolished. The black dial has two white subdials placed at 6 o’clock and 9 o’clock, with a date window at 3 o’clock. An unusual configuration, but Lemania is famous for their non-conformist dial layouts. This example is in excellent condition, with nicely aged lume and a bright orange sweep second hand. The high dome acrylic crystal looks clean and original. Sadly there is no movement picture, but the seller states the automatic caliber 1340 movement functions well and keeps time. Great looking chunk-o-chrono that has a tried and true chronograph movement and looks great, and shouldn’t break the bank…at least as far as vintage chronographs go.

Vintage Omega Semester DeVille

Here’s a beautiful and classic vintage Omega dress watch. This 1968 Omega Seamaster DeVille in solid 14k gold is a real looker. The simple round case with straight, slim lugs is pure class, and in 14k yellow gold it’s as blingy as it is understated…..if that makes sense. The case is sharp and unpolished, with a personal engraving on the back dated 1969. The silver dial is original and super clean, with stick markers and stick hands and a date window at 3 o’clock. The knurled crown is correct and original, and signed with the Omega symbol as it should. This is a front-loading case, but the seller has provided pictures of the Omega automatic caliber 563 movement, which is clean and runs well per the seller. Absolutely awesome, all original, solid gold vintage Omega Seamaster DeVille….how can you go wrong?

Vintage Seiko 4006-6089 Bell-Matic

This vintage Seiko 4006-6089 Bell-Matic is a great looking version of the classic Seiko alarm watch. Yes, we all have alarms in our pockets via our cell phones, but there’s something cool about a watch that has a mechanical alarm. The Seiko Bell-Matic came in a plethora of designs, and this is one of the cooler ones if you ask me. The steel case has a squared off lug design that is well executed. This example is crisp and unpolished with sharp edges and the original brushed finish. The integrated steel bracelet is original and has a Seiko signed buckle. The black dial is clean and original, with a really nice blue internal rotating alarm bezel. This gem looks all original and is a Bell-Matic version that is less common than most. Sadly no movement picture but it runs and works well per the seller.

Vintage Kienzle Sport Skin Diver

Next up is a cool vintage Kienzle diver. The case is a classic skin diver style, chrome plated with a steel back. The case is in great shape, with no wear-through on the chrome plating. The plastic bezel is in really nice shape, with only moderate wear around the edges. The crown is oversized and looks original and correct. The black dial is clean, and has a great design that borrows from several iconic divers’ styles. The 12 o’clock marker is a large round lume plot, and the 6 and 9 o’clock are large lume triangles. The steel hands are fantastic, the minute is a lume filled dauphine style and the hour has a large lume filled arrow tip. Really just an awesome confluence of great vintage diver style all in one piece. No movement pictures but the seller states the watch runs well.

Vintage Omega Flightmaster

Finishing strong with a stunning and scarce vintage Omega Flightmaster chronograph. This reference 145.036 is an absolute classic. The Flightmaster is a unique piece, with chronograph, GMT and diver functions all integrated into one bad ass chunk of watch. The large ‘helmet’ style steel case is in super condition, with the original brushed finish and sharp edges. The black dial is clean, as are the multitude of hands. Is this a busy watch? Hell yes, but it is unique and absolutely a killer. The case, dial, hands and crowns/pushers are all as clean as they come, and the watch even comes on the correct and original bracelet with an Omega signed buckle. Sadly there is no movement picture, but the watch runs well and all functions operate as they should. This is easily one of the best examples of a Flightmaster I’ve ever seen for sale. These are purpose-designed tool watches that were actually used as designed, and it is uncommon to find them in this condition. If you’ve had a hankerin’ for a Flightmaster, give this one a long, hard look.
