Originally introduced in 1996, the Golden Book remains one of the most distinctive creations in the Corum Heritage collection.

Conceived as a tribute to literature, craftsmanship and the poetry of mechanical watchmaking, it takes the form of a miniature book that opens to reveal an engraved quotation by Ernest Hemingway: “Now is no time to think of what you do not have. Think of what you can do with what you have.”

More than a decorative detail, the inscription reinforces the watch’s literary inspiration, transforming the simple act of reading the time into a reflective experience.

Presented under the reference G29.157.FW0.4N, the latest Golden Book preserves the concept that has defined the model since its debut while combining precious materials with a remarkably slim mechanical construction.

The rectangular case measures 29 mm by 36 mm and is only 7.6 mm thick. To balance elegance with everyday practicality, Corum combines a lightweight grade 5 titanium case with a hinged cover crafted from 18K 5N rose gold.

Opening like the cover of a miniature book, it conceals the dial beneath while giving the watch its unmistakable identity.

The solid caseback contributes to the clean profile of the watch, while water resistance is rated to 30 metres (3 ATM).

Beneath the opening cover sits a clean white lacquered brass dial, where black baton-style hands indicate the hours and minutes with understated clarity.

The restrained display reflects the philosophy of the watch, allowing the unusual architecture of the case to remain the focal point.

Powering the Golden Book is the Corum Calibre CO157, a hand-wound movement fitted with 17 jewels. Operating at 21,600 vibrations per hour (3 Hz), it delivers a power reserve of approximately 46 hours and displays the hours and minutes only.

The movement is paired with a black vulcanised rubber strap featuring a leather-textured finish that introduces a contemporary contrast to the classical inspiration of the case.

Measuring 22 mm between the lugs and tapering to 18 mm at the buckle, it is secured by a pin buckle crafted from 18K 5N rose gold.

The Corum Golden Book Ref. G29.157.FW0.4N is priced at CHF 28,000, excluding taxes. corum.ch
