Bovet has unveiled the Récital 31, a new interpretation of the perpetual calendar that pairs high-end technical sophistication with a more intuitive and legible user experience.
Housed in a 44 mm Dimier case topped by a box-shaped sapphire crystal, the new model combines a perpetual calendar with retrograde date display, a spherical precision moon phase and a newly developed in-house movement, while introducing several practical features intended to simplify everyday use.
Available in Grade 5 titanium or 18K red gold, the Récital 31 is offered in blue, red and black colourways, each produced in a limited edition of 60 numbered pieces.
One of the key innovations concerns the calendar adjustment system. Rather than requiring the owner to identify the correct adjustment pusher for each indication, Bovet has engraved clear labels directly on the case, identifying the pushers used to adjust the date, day, month and spherical moon phase.
This practical solution addresses one of the most common frustrations associated with perpetual calendars while preserving the complexity of the underlying mechanism.
The Récital 31 also continues the design direction established by the Récital 30, presenting the perpetual calendar in a layout intended to remain intuitive in everyday use while preserving the hand engraving, guilloché decoration and artisanal finishing for which Bovet is known.
Powering the watch is a brand-new manufacture calibre developed entirely in-house. The movement comprises 469 components and combines a perpetual calendar with retrograde date display and a spherical precision moon phase, a configuration that posed significant engineering challenges due to the available space and power requirements.
The calibre offers a power reserve of five days and reflects Bovet’s extensive vertical integration, with more than 95% of the watch’s components manufactured at the company’s facilities in Tramelan.
The movement is decorated entirely by hand and introduces a new engraving motif known as étoiles carrées (“square stars”), created specifically for the Récital 31 and its companion model, the Récital 32.
The movement is visible through the sapphire crystal caseback, allowing appreciation of both its architecture and extensive hand finishing. According to the manufacture, engraving the movement alone requires more than 15 hours of work by its artisans.
Measuring 44 mm in diameter and 13.3 mm thick, the Récital 31 is paired with a rubber strap matching the dial colour.
