Armin Strom unveiled the Tribute 2 Aurum, the latest chapter in its Tribute collection, which began with the acclaimed Tribute 1 and was expanded in 2024 with the Tribute 2.
Complementing its predecessor, the Tribute 2 line develops the collection’s artistic language, pushing artisanal decoration further through a more openworked and skeletonised design.
Limited to 10 pieces and distinguished by its hand-engraved tremblage mainplate, the Aurum edition underscores the brand’s commitment to high-end artisanal finishing.
At its core is the in-house hand-wound AMW21 calibre, operating at 3.5 Hz (25,200 vibrations per hour), and delivering a remarkable 100-hour power reserve.
This performance is made possible by the movement’s motor barrel construction, where the arbor transmits energy directly to the gear train — a solution that enhances efficiency while optimising space.
The Tribute 2 Aurum’s visual appeal is just as compelling as its mechanics. A gold-coated mainplate, hand-engraved with a burin using the rare tremblage technique, sets a textured backdrop that plays with light and depth.
Above it, a grey fumé off-centre dial with layered construction enhances contrast and dimensionality, inviting close inspection of the movement beneath.
The skeletonised motor barrel on the dial side features hand-polished, bevelled spokes, complemented by a black-polished finger bridge, while the rear reveals a three-quarter bridge adorned with Geneva stripes and circular graining, finished with 60° hand-polished bevels that underscore the watch’s artisanal pedigree.
A three-dimensional escapement wheel bridge with a polished sink holds the variable inertia balance wheel with a flat hairspring.
The 137-component calibre is carefully assembled twice to ensure precision and integrity.
Encased in 38 mm of stainless steel with a height of 9.38 mm, the Tribute 2 Aurum is fitted with sapphire crystals on both sides, treated with anti-reflective coating, and offers 5 ATM (50 metres / 165 feet) water resistance.
The hands are gold-coated and polished with Super-LumiNova, harmonising with a taupe Epsom strap with matching stitching secured by a stainless steel pin buckle. The lug width is 18 mm.
