Hublot and Yohji Yamamoto have partnered once again to explore the expressive potential of black with the Classic Fusion Yohji Yamamoto All Black Camo, a limited edition of 300 pieces.

Both Hublot and Yohji Yamamoto have built their identities by questioning established norms: Hublot by reinterpreting Swiss watchmaking through its Art of Fusion, introduced in 1980 with the combination of gold and rubber; Yohji Yamamoto by redefining fashion since his Paris debut in 1981, using black as a deliberate response to excess and transient trends.

Yohji Yamamoto approaches fashion through reduction and deconstruction, consistently challenging conventional ideas of form, proportion and luxury. His work favours restraint, asymmetry and material honesty over ornament.

For Yamamoto, black reveals what truly matters, purifying form and allowing silhouette and texture to speak.

This interpretation of the Classic Fusion is defined by a 42 mm x 10.4 mm matte black ceramic case, whose surfaces absorb light and shape shadow.

The bezel is secured to the case by six visible, functional H-shaped screws in black-plated titanium, while the crown is engraved with Hublot’s recurring “H” motif.

Four additional screws fix the strap to the case. Crafted from black fabric and black rubber, the strap is secured by a black-plated steel deployant clasp.

Protected by a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment, the monochrome camouflage-pattern dial of the All Black Camo subtly shifts with movement, revealing layered contrasts.

The central hands feature a matte black finish, with the seconds hand bearing the Hublot logo adding a measured sense of motion to the dial. Yohji Yamamoto’s signature appears at 6 o’clock, complemented by a discreet date aperture at 3 o’clock.

The smoked sapphire crystal caseback reveals the MHUB1110 self-winding calibre and its skeletonised rotor, while maintaining a restrained, monochrome aesthetic.

Operating at 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour), the movement delivers a power reserve of 42 hours.

Water-resistant to 50 metres (165 feet), the Hublot Classic Fusion Yohji Yamamoto All Black Camo, ref. 542.CI.6670.NR.YOY, is priced at €12,000 / US$12,100. hublot.com
