What We Know

The Traveller complication has long been Laurent Ferrier’s take on a dual-time watch—appearing across the brand’s more classical case families, but never quite making the jump into its sportier lineup. Bringing it into the Sport line has always felt like a natural next step: pairing LF’s push-button travel-time functionality with a more robust, everyday-wear case. At Watches And Wonders this year, the brand is releasing exactly that, with the complication now fully integrated into the Sport collection for the first time—resulting in one of the most practical, usable watches in Laurent Ferrier’s lineup.

The Laurent Ferrier Sport Traveller In Slate Grey

Laurent Ferrier Sport Traveller features a 42mm Grade 5 titanium Sport case, 13.3mm thick, with alternating brushed and polished surfaces and 100 meters of water resistance. Two pushers on the left side of the case allow the local hour to jump forward or backward in one-hour increments, making travel-time adjustments quick and intuitive without stopping the movement.

The slate grey opaline dial keeps things tonal, with soft grey printing and a central crosshair layout. A home time display sits at 3 o’clock, the date at 9, and a small seconds at 6 rendered in a subtle blue. White gold indices and LF’s signature assegai hands are filled with light green Super-LumiNova, giving a bit of pop against the anthracite base while maintaining strong legibility. The “Sport Traveller” text is printed tone-on-tone and sits discreetly on the dial.

Inside is the new LF275.01 automatic caliber, running at 4 Hz with a 72-hour power reserve and featuring a platinum micro-rotor. Notably, it moves away from the brand’s earlier natural escapement in favor of a Swiss lever escapement—a more conventional architecture, but one that’s generally more robust, easier to service, and better suited to a sports watch meant for regular wear. Finishing remains very much in line with Laurent Ferrier standards, with ruthenium-treated bridges, horizontal brushing, and hand-executed details throughout. The date is linked to local time, advancing or reversing in sync with each jump of the hour hand.

It’s fitted on an integrated Grade 5 titanium bracelet with a folding clasp and joins the permanent collection. Price is CHF 61,000, and it is available now.

What We Think

“Balanced” is the first word that comes to mind when I saw this watch. There’s an intentional symmetry running through the entire watch—from the crosshair dial layout, to the home time and date mirroring each other, all the way down to the typography. “Sport Traveller” and “Laurent Ferrier” even match in length. Normally, I’m not a huge fan of putting the model name on the dial, but here it blends in well enough—and if anything, it reinforces that sense of visual equilibrium.

The dial also walks a nice line for LF. Typically very restrained, this one has more going on than usual for the brand, but it never feels busy. The light green Super-LumiNova on the white gold indices and assegai hands pops nicely against the anthracite dial, adding contrast without breaking the overall tone. And the specs back it up—72 hours of power reserve, integrated bracelet, and now a proper travel-time function in a sport case.

I’m curious how the 42mm case wears, especially given the brand’s tendency toward softer, more rounded forms, and I’m looking forward to trying it on this week in Geneva. But on paper, this feels like a really nice addition to the Sport line.
