What We Know

At Watches and Wonders this year, Hublot is leaning into its flagship reference with the introduction of a dozen new Big Bang models. The releases run the gamut from material experimentation and bold visual identity to collaborations with top athletes and a willingness to stretch from entry-level steel to seven-figure high jewelry.

Hublot Big Bang

We’ll start with the core of Hublot’s modern lineup with the Big Bang Reloaded collection. Five new references are announced—Titanium Ceramic, All Black, Blue Ceramic, Dark Green, and Magic Gold. The 44mm case remains, but this time the watch is really built around the HUB1280 Unico flyback chronograph, with the movement pushed front and center. With the column wheel positioned dial-side and the architecture opened up further, the movement becomes the visual centerpiece. Specs are consistent across the range: a 72-hour power reserve, integrated flyback chronograph, and a more legible, reworked dial layout. Prices start at around $24,000 for titanium ceramic and reach $44,500 for Magic Gold.

Hublot Big Bang

Two limited editions build on that same DNA—The Big Bang Reloaded Usain Bolt takes the 44mm ceramic and carbon case and layers in details tied directly to Bolt’s career. The lightning-bolt chronograph hand, engraved bezel mantra, and even a small sample of soil from his childhood training ground embedded in the caseback allude to the greatest sprinter to ever live. Mechanically, it follows the same specs as the Reloaded above—the HUB1280 Unico flyback chronograph with a 72-hour power reserve—but visually, it’s one of the more expressive takes on the platform. Limited to 200 pieces.

Hublot Big Bang

The Big Bang Reloaded Kylian Mbappé follows a similar formula but with a slightly more restrained execution. The 44mm case combines white ceramic with 18K King Gold, and the overall palette is cleaner, with a grey-toned skeleton dial and gold accents tied to Mbappé’s number 10 shirt, which he wears for France. The HUB1280 remains at the core, delivering the same flyback chronograph functionality and 72-hour reserve. Like the Bolt edition, it’s limited to 200 pieces and comes with interchangeable strap options, including a fabric Velcro and rubber strap. Both watches are $30,000.

Hublot Big Bang Impact

Next up is the Spirit of Big Bang Impact collection, housed in a 42mm tonneau-shaped case. These watches use the automatic HUB1770 skeletonized movement with moonphase and big date, but the real focus is on the case and dial construction. One version sets diamonds directly into sapphire—a technically complex process requiring laser machining into one of the hardest materials used in watchmaking—while another introduces osmium, one of the rarest metals on Earth.

A third leans into black ceramic with a monochromatic “All Black” execution. All three share the same core specs, including a 50-hour power reserve, but feel entirely different on the wrist. Pricing ranges from about $33,700 for the All Black to $543,000 for the sapphire diamond-set version, with the osmium model in between at around $114,500.

Hublot Big Bang High Jewellry

At the very high end of the releases this year, is the Big Bang Tourbillon Impact High Jewellery One Million. It’s a 45mm white gold case set with hundreds of diamonds arranged in a radiating pattern around a central flying tourbillon, giving the whole watch a sense of depth and constant motion. Inside is the hand-wound HUB9015 with a five-day power reserve, though here the movement is almost certainly secondary to the gem-setting and overall construction. It’s priced at $1,205,000.

Hublot Big Bang Joyful Steel

Finally, we have the Big Bang Joyful Steel Purple, a 33mm stainless steel model that leans into wearability without losing the core design language. The case keeps the familiar Big Bang architecture—H-screws, layered construction—but scales it down into something more versatile. The bezel is set with 36 amethysts, matched by a purple-accented rubber strap, while a clean white dial keeps things legible. Inside is the automatic HUB1120 with a 40-hour power reserve, offering straightforward three-hand functionality with a date. It’s a lighter, more playful take on the Big Bang that still feels true to the collection, priced at $15,500.

What We Think

Taken individually, each of these watches fits neatly into a familiar Hublot lane—color-driven entry pieces, athlete collaborations, core Unico chronographs, and high jewelry at the very top. Put together, the strategy feels pretty clear: double down on the Big Bang and make sure it meets the brand’s collectors wherever they are. Whether that’s a smaller, more wearable piece, a sports tie-in, or a six-figure (or seven-figure) showpiece, the collection now covers a wide range of entry points, even as it branches into different case shapes like the tonneau Spirit of Big Bang and variations in execution across the line.

There’s something to be said for that approach. Rather than chasing something entirely new, Hublot is leaning into what already works—expanding the Big Bang across materials, complications, and use cases while keeping the core design language intact. Even where there are shifts, like the Spirit collection’s case or the more playful Joyful line, they still sit comfortably within that same broader identity. The result is a lineup that feels less about reinvention and more about continuing to build out a complete ecosystem around a single, well-defined idea.
