Cyrus Genève expands its contemporary interpretation of Haute Horlogerie with the new Dominion Lapis Blue GMT, a model that combines the technical architecture of the Dominion collection with the organic character of a natural stone dial.
Crafted from genuine lapis lazuli, the dial introduces a different aesthetic direction for the collection. Its deep ultramarine tone, punctuated by natural golden pyrite inclusions, gives each piece a distinct appearance, ensuring that no two watches are exactly alike.
Rather than emphasising transparency and mechanical exposure, the new execution focuses on texture, colour, and visual depth.
This marks a notable evolution from the Dominion GMT introduced in 2025, whose openworked architecture highlighted the movement beneath the dial side.
With the Dominion Lapis Blue GMT, Cyrus places greater emphasis on the dial while preserving the same underlying technical platform and distinctive dual-crown configuration.
The 42 mm case, crafted from polished and satin-brushed grade 5 titanium, retains the characteristic proportions of the collection.
Measuring 16.73 mm thick, it combines relatively compact dimensions with the lightweight properties of titanium to enhance wearing comfort.
The elongated lugs frame the Maison’s signature twin crowns, reinforcing the recognisable profile of the watch.
The crown positioned at 3 o’clock is used for winding and for setting both local and home time simultaneously.
At 9 o’clock, a second crown incorporating a push-button enables quick correction of the local hour hand in one-hour increments while leaving the GMT indication unchanged, a practical solution for travellers moving across time zones.
The watch is protected by sapphire crystals with anti-reflective treatment on both sides and offers water resistance to 10 ATM (100 metres / 330 feet).
The slim bezel maximises the dial opening, placing the emphasis firmly on the lapis lazuli surface.
For the first time within a Cyrus collection, the traditional Arabic numerals used for local time have been replaced by elongated rhodium-plated baton hour markers, contributing to a cleaner and more contemporary appearance.
The local hours and minutes are indicated by openworked rhodium-plated hands filled with white Super-LumiNova that emits a blue glow in low-light conditions.
The retrograde GMT display remains one of the defining elements of the watch.
The second time zone is indicated by a slender rhodium-plated hand tipped with a luminous triangular marker moving across a matte white 24-hour arc with blue Arabic numerals.
Interrupted at 6 o’clock by the small seconds display, the arc integrates naturally into the overall dial layout.
The small seconds counter mirrors the same white and blue accents and introduces a redesigned hand replacing the propeller-inspired motif used previously. Slimmer and more restrained in appearance, it incorporates a counterweight inspired by the Cyrus logo.
Powering the watch is the self-winding manufacture calibre CYR708, developed by Jean-François Mojon and produced in-house in Le Locle.
Composed of 278 components and 41 jewels, the movement beats at 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) and provides a power reserve of approximately 55 hours.
Visible through the sapphire crystal case back, the calibre features anthracite NAC-treated bridges decorated with slightly curved sunray patterns alternating brushed and microbeaded finishes, complemented by polished bevels.
The openworked oscillating weight is treated using blue ALD (Atomic Layer Deposition), a finish whose tone echoes the shades of the lapis lazuli dial and creates visual continuity between the front and back of the watch.
Completed by a black alligator leather strap secured by a titanium pin buckle, the Dominion Lapis Blue GMT explores a more restrained side of the Dominion concept while maintaining the technical identity and unconventional display architecture that define the collection.
The Cyrus Genève Dominion Lapis Blue GMT (ref. 528.507.TT.SP.A) is issued in a limited edition of 28 pieces and priced at CHF 28,000 excluding taxes. cyrus-watches.ch
