Bell & Ross expands its Lum collection—named after the French word lumière (“light”)—with the BR-03 GMT Green Lum. Limited to 500 pieces, it combines the practicality of a dual-time display with the collection’s signature luminous aesthetic.
Designed for pilots, frequent travellers and anyone crossing time zones, the watch reinterprets the BR-03 GMT with a dial inspired by the colours of the Northern Lights.
Its vertical gradient transitions from black at the top to vivid green at the bottom, evoking the glow of an aurora illuminating the night sky.
This distinctive backdrop is complemented by transfer hour numerals and markers coated with pale green Super-LumiNova C3, whose long-lasting luminescence ensures excellent readability in darkness.
The glossy black hour and minute hands, together with the GMT hand tipped by a large triangle, are also filled with Super-LumiNova C3, while the black central seconds hand features Bell & Ross’ signature aircraft-shaped counterweight.
The luminous treatment extends beyond the dial to the bidirectional rotating bezel.
Its polished black ceramic insert carries a 24-hour scale engraved and filled with the same green-emitting Super-LumiNova C3, allowing the second time zone to remain fully legible even in complete darkness.
Originally developed in the 1990s, Super-LumiNova is based on strontium aluminate pigments enhanced with rare-earth elements. The C3 formulation used here offers one of the strongest luminous performances available, emitting a green glow for up to approximately ten hours after exposure to light.
The GMT function displays local time on the 12-hour dial, while the dedicated GMT hand points to the 24-hour scale engraved on the bezel to indicate a second time zone.
By rotating the bezel, the watch can also be used to track a third time zone when required. As with all its professional instrument watches, Bell & Ross has prioritised intuitive operation and immediate legibility.
Like the rest of the BR-03 collection, the watch adopts the characteristic “circle within a square” architecture inspired by aircraft cockpit instruments and secured by four functional screws positioned at the corners.
The satin-finished and polished stainless steel case measures 42 mm in diameter and 11.3 mm in thickness, while water resistance is rated to 100 metres (10 bar), making the watch suitable for swimming and everyday aquatic activities.
Powering the watch is the automatic BR-CAL.303 calibre, which operates the hours, minutes, central seconds, date display and GMT indication while offering a power reserve of approximately 54 hours.
The watch is protected by a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating and is supplied with both a black rubber strap and an ultra-resistant black synthetic fabric strap, each secured by a satin-finished and polished stainless steel pin buckle.
