Mido has added a new variation to its Ocean Star 200C dive watch lineup. Characterised by the contrast between its red ceramic bezel and dusty black dial, reference M042.430.16.051.00 draws inspiration from the warm tones of a tropical sunset.
The robust 42.5 mm x 12.3 mm case in 316L stainless steel offers water resistance to 200 metres / 660 feet, made possible by a screw-down crown and a screw-in caseback.
The case back is embellished with the collection’s starfish emblem, rendered in relief with a polished finish.
The unidirectional rotating bezel features a red ceramic insert with a 60-minute scale and a white Super-LumiNova dot at 12 o’clock, used to mark the start of a dive by aligning it with the minute hand.
Protected by a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment on both sides, the matte black dial is decorated with the collection’s signature wave motif.
Rose-coloured faceted hands and applied circular indices are filled with white Super-LumiNova, ensuring enhanced legibility in low-light conditions. Day and date apertures at 3 o’clock complete the display.
Powering the watch is the automatic Calibre 80 (based on ETA C07.621), beating at 21,600 vibrations per hour and offering a power reserve of up to 80 hours.
It is equipped with a Nivachron balance spring, providing increased resistance to magnetic fields.
Paired with a brown leather strap with white stitching and secured by a stainless steel pin buckle engraved with the MIDO logo, the watch is fitted with quick-change lug bars for easy strap replacement.
The Mido Ocean Star 200C with red ceramic bezel (ref. M042.430.16.051.00) has a suggested retail price of €1,190 / US$1,250. midowatches.com
