This is the third model introduced by the independent brand founded by watchmakers Gaël Petermann and Florian Bédat, following the award-winning Reference 1967 and the exclusive Chronographe Rattrapante Reference 2941.
Measuring 38 mm x 10.15 mm, including the box-shaped anti-reflective sapphire crystal, the polished case of the Reference 1825 is crafted from 18k rose gold. Inspired by the design of the previous Reference 2941, it has been reworked for a three-hand configuration and is characterised by slightly curved soldered lugs.

Unlike earlier releases, the dial of this new model is not openworked but closed.
Executed in translucent Grand Feu enamel over a laser-textured white gold base, it combines the depth and radiance of enamel with the visual balance of a sector-style layout.

The twelve hour markers are polished and hand-applied, and, together with the hour, minute, and seconds hands, are made of rose gold.
Legibility is excellent, aided by the printed minute and seconds tracks.

The Reference 1825 is powered by the Calibre 233, a completely new hand-wound movement developed from scratch and inspired by pocket watches once restored in the brand’s workshop.

Operating at a frequency of 2.5 Hz (18,000 vibrations per hour) and offering a 56-hour power reserve, the movement is distinguished by its bell-shaped central steel bridge, oversized ruby bearings, swan-neck regulator, and Breguet overcoil balance spring.
For the first time, all wheels are crafted in solid gold.

Finishing is of the highest order: Côtes de Genève on the bridges with hand-polished chamfers, sunray graining and perlage on the main plate, circular graining on the wheels with hand-bevelled arms, snail graining on the barrel and ratchet wheel, and black-polished steel components throughout.
The Calibre 233 will serve as the new base movement for the Renens-based Swiss manufacture.
Limited by production, the Petermann Bédat Reference 1825 is priced at CHF 75,000, excluding taxes. petermann-bedat.ch
