The new Luminor Marina PAM01759 by Panerai is characterised by a distinctive vintage flair, thanks to several details that reconnect to the brand’s heritage and its early years as a supplier to the Italian Navy.
Limited to 1,000 pieces, this edition comes in a 44 mm stainless steel case featuring the signature safety lock system and fitted with a domed sapphire crystal, a nod to the shape of early underwater instruments and a feature that adds depth to the all-numeral dial.
Rendered with green Super-LumiNova, the dial reflects the legibility requirements of military divers in low-light conditions.
The small-seconds sub-dial at 9 o’clock, essential for monitoring the watch’s operation during dives, further underlines Panerai’s military roots.
In line with the vintage spirit of the model, the date display has been omitted, resulting in a cleaner, more balanced layout.
The solid case back, engraved with “Limited Edition” and the individual serial number, conceals the self-winding P.9010 calibre.
Operating at 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour), it delivers a three-day power reserve via twin barrels, wound by a bi-directional oscillating weight. The movement also features a seconds-stop function for precise time setting and an independently adjustable hour hand.
The watch is supplied with a dark brown vintage calfskin strap secured by a trapezoidal pin buckle, along with an additional black rubber strap. Water resistance is rated at 30 bar (~300 metres / 1,000 feet).
Presented in a special wooden box, the Panerai Luminor Marina PAM01759 is priced at €9,900 / US$10,200. panerai.com
