Longines expands its Master Collection, a line that stands as a testament to the Saint-Imier brand’s watchmaking expertise, with the new Master Chronograph Moonphase, reference L2.773.8.78.3.
Measuring 42 mm in diameter and 14.40 mm thick, this model is crafted entirely from 18 ct rose gold, including the large crown engraved with the winged hourglass logo.
Protected by a sapphire crystal with multi-layer anti-reflective coating, the dial stands out for its silver barleycorn pattern, providing an elegant backdrop for the multiple indications.
Black painted Arabic numerals and blued-steel hands ensure excellent legibility.
The chronograph and calendar functions are harmoniously arranged: the 30-minute counter at 12 o’clock integrates the day and month indications, while the 12-hour counter at 6 o’clock includes the moonphase display.
A fourth central hand, distinguished by its crescent-shaped tip, indicates the current date, and the subdial at 9 o’clock combines the running seconds with a 24-hour indicator.
The sapphire crystal case back reveals the Longines Calibre L687.5, a self-winding column-wheel chronograph with a 5N rose-gold-coloured oscillating weight.
Operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), it offers a power reserve of up to 66 hours.
For enhanced reliability and long-term precision, the movement is equipped with a silicon balance spring, known for its lightness, durability, and resistance to temperature variations.
Paired with a brown alligator leather strap secured by an 18 ct 5N rose gold pin buckle, the new Longines Master Chronograph Moonphase in rose gold (ref. L2.773.8.78.3) is priced at €26,200 / US$26,100. longines.com
