Audemars Piguet has recently unveiled the Neo Frame Jumping Hour, a rectangular timepiece that indicates the time through two apertures, one for the jumping hour and the other for trailing minutes.
Following our introductory overview, we had the opportunity to photograph this model at the AP House in Milan. We are now delighted to share a selection of our live photos for our In pictures series.
Although the Neo Frame Jumping Hour presents a rectangular appearance due to its black framed display, the case measures 34 mm in both length and width.
The 18-carat pink gold flanks are articulated by eight vertical gadroons that extend seamlessly into pointed lugs.
This construction lends the watch elongated proportions, further emphasised by the slim 8.8 mm profile.
A black PVD treated sapphire crystal serves as the dial, with two gold framed apertures displaying the jumping hour and trailing minutes through white numerals printed against a black background.
The Audemars Piguet signature appears at 6 o’clock in pink gold tones.
The sapphire is bonded to the dial plate and then screwed into the case, a solution that contributes to ensuring water resistance to 20 metres or 66 feet.
The fluted motif continues across the crown and the caseback, which showcases the Calibre 7122 through a porthole.
This is the first automatic jumping hour movement from the brand, and even the oscillating weight reprises the fluted design.
Operating at a frequency of 4 Hz, equivalent to 28,800 vibrations per hour, it offers a power reserve of 52 hours.
Completing the watch is a comfortable black calfskin leather strap with a textured motif, secured by an 18-carat pink gold AP clasp. For reference, the wrist shown in our pictures measures 17.8 cm or 7 inches.
