Hublot has unveiled the new MP-17 Meca-10 Arsham Splash Titanium Sapphire, a timepiece that combines fine watchmaking with contemporary art, developed in collaboration with renowned American artist and Hublot Ambassador Daniel Arsham.
Inspired by the dynamic essence of flowing water, organic forms, and transparency, this model is a wearable sculpture crafted from sapphire crystal – used for the frosted box-shaped bezel – titanium, and rubber, with Arsham’s creative direction evident in every fluid curve.
The compact 42 mm x 15.35 mm case size has been achieved through the integration of Hublot’s new, smaller Meca-10 calibre, a Meccano-inspired hand-wound movement redesigned earlier this year.
Visible through the striking splash-shaped opening on the dial and the sapphire caseback, the Meca-10 operates at a frequency of 3 Hz (21,600 vibrations per hour) and delivers an impressive 10-day power reserve.
While the watch may appear to depart from Hublot’s recognisable design language, a closer look reveals several signature details, including the six H-screws on the bezel and caseback, the distinctive lugs at 3 and 9 o’clock, and the titanium H-shaped folding clasp.
Arsham green accents appear on the hour and minute hands, numerals, hour and five-minute markers, small seconds hand at 9 o’clock, and power reserve indicator at 3 o’clock.
The watch is paired with a black rubber strap decorated with the Arsham monogram and is water-resistant to 5 ATM (50 metres / 165 feet).
Limited to 99 pieces, the Hublot MP-17 Meca-10 Arsham Splash Titanium Sapphire (ref. 917.NJ.6909.RX) is available at Hublot boutiques and authorised retailers, priced at CHF 60,000 / €69,000 / US$69,000. hublot.com
