Glashütte Original is enriching its Serenade Luna collection with the Serenade Luna “Purple Velvet”, a new exclusive interpretation of the exquisitely feminine timepiece.
A true piece of jewellery, this sophisticated model comes in a round steel case measuring 32.5 mm in diameter and 8.90 mm thick, paired with an elegant strap in violet Louisiana alligator leather with a glossy, velvety finish, secured to the wrist by a stainless steel butterfly clasp.
Water resistance is rated to 3 bar (30 metres / 100 feet).
Its sparkling bezel, set with 48 brilliant-cut diamonds, frames a violet-coloured dial carefully crafted in Glashütte Original’s own dial manufactory (read more in our article “The face of time: dial manufacture at Glashütte Original”).
A delicate sunray decoration and translucent lacquer bring visual depth, further enhanced by the vivid reflections of the diamond-set indexes.
The moon-phase display appears at 6 o’clock, adding a poetic touch to the ensemble.
White natural mother-of-pearl and dark Tahitian mother-of-pearl, delicately imprinted with stars, create a clear yet elegant portrayal of the Earth’s satellite and the night sky.
The Serenade Luna’s moon phase offers a highly precise representation of the lunar cycle, deviating by just one day after 122 years. It is adjusted directly via the gem-set crown by pulling it to the first position.
Visible through the sapphire crystal caseback, the Calibre 35 automatic movement embodies the rigorous standards of traditional Glashütte watchmaking.
Optimised for its compact dimensions, the redesigned oscillating system features a balance wheel with four regulating screws and a silicon hairspring, ensuring high resistance to magnetic fields and temperature fluctuations. Beating at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vph), the movement offers a power reserve of 60 hours.
The hand-executed decorations showcase exceptional craftsmanship: the Glashütte three-quarter plate is adorned with characteristic stripes, while the edges are meticulously bevelled and polished. Further refinements include a sunburst finish on the reduction gear and perlage on the fine shell-pattern engraving.
