Combining a self-winding chronograph with a moonphase function, this 10-piece edition stands out for its purple dial, enhanced by a gradient finish that darkens towards the periphery and lightens at the centre.

Defined by applied Breguet numerals and leaf-shaped hands, the style of the Legacy Moonphase Chronograph Purple draws inspiration from the brand’s heritage, particularly from an Edouard Koehn yellow gold pocket watch with perpetual calendar, moonphase and lunar calendar indications created circa 1900.

The central chronograph seconds hand, rendered in blue for improved legibility, is activated by the pusher at 2 o’clock, while the pusher at 4 o’clock resets the chronograph.

The instantaneous 30-minute counter, also featuring a blue hand, is positioned at 3 o’clock and is visually balanced by the running seconds at 9 o’clock.

The moonphase and date functions are displayed in the subdial at 6 o’clock. The indication reflects the 29.5-day lunar cycle and is depicted on a rotating disc mounted on a 59-tooth wheel that advances one increment every two days, faithfully reproducing the phases of the Moon.

The outer minute track is divided into four segments per second, allowing for more precise readings when stopping the chronograph seconds hand.

Crafted from 316L stainless steel, the case measures 40 mm in diameter and 14.10 mm in thickness including the two domed “glass-box” sapphire crystals with anti-reflective treatment, or 12.90 mm excluding them.

The two rectangular pushers at 2 o’clock and 4 o’clock are paired with an onion-shaped crown, a signature element of the line. Water resistance is rated at 30 metres / 100 feet.

The Legacy Moonphase Chronograph is powered by a self-winding mechanical chronograph movement developed in collaboration with Manufacture Concepto, a specialist in high-end mechanical calibres.

Operating at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour), this 262-component calibre features a chronometer-grade regulating organ and offers a 60-hour power reserve. Each of the 10 pieces is individually numbered on the case back.

The watch can be paired paired with an anthracite or purple Louisiana alligator leather strap with a purple lining.

Exclusively available in the United States, the Edouard Koehn Legacy Moonphase Chronograph Purple Limited Edition, ref. EK-CHR12SS-PEASAE, has a suggested retail price of US$14,800.

The Legacy Moonphase Chronograph is also available in three 50-piece limited editions featuring vertically satin-finished dials in Dune, Ice Blue and Gradient Blue. edouardkoehn.com
