Panerai has recently unveiled the Radiomir Viaggio Nel Tempo Experience Set, marking the first time the Florentine brand has associated a dedicated watch set with one of its experiential programmes.

Conceived in the year of the centenary of its historic Piazza San Giovanni boutique in Florence, the initiative combines a curated Italian journey tracing the locations and defining moments that helped forge Panerai’s history with two limited Radiomir models: PAM01729 and PAM01730.

Scheduled from 15 to 18 September 2026, the experience begins in Florence with a private exhibition celebrating one hundred years of the boutique’s presence.

Participants will then retrace sites connected to the history of the Italian naval frogmen, including training grounds near the mouth of the Serchio River, before concluding at the COMSUBIN base in Porto Venere with a diving session and a yacht tour along the Ligurian coast.

The journey is reserved exclusively for owners of the Viaggio Nel Tempo Experience Set, limited to 30 examples.

The first watch in the set, the Radiomir Viaggio nel Tempo Experience PAM01729, combines two historically significant elements of the Radiomir lineage: the California dial and a 47 mm bronze case.

The dial alternates Roman numerals on the upper half with Arabic numerals on the lower half, a configuration originally devised to enhance orientation and legibility in low-light conditions.

Bar markers and a minute track complete the layout, while blue burnished steel hands provide contrast against the black surface.

The crystal is domed PLEXIGLAS, echoing early military prototypes, and beige Super-LumiNova ensures readability in the dark.

The brushed bronze case, bezel and crown are made from an alloy of copper and tin designed to develop a patina over time through exposure to air and moisture.

Slim wire lugs and a cone-shaped crown reinforce the historical references.

The titanium caseback incorporates a sapphire crystal window showcasing the hand-wound P.3000 calibre, which beats at 21,600 vibrations per hour (3 Hz) and delivers a three-day power reserve via two barrels mounted in series.

Measuring 5.3 mm in thickness, the movement features a large three-quarter-style bridge architecture secured by substantial screws to enhance structural rigidity.

The watch is paired with a dark brown rolled leather strap and a trapezoidal brushed bronze buckle. Water resistance is rated at 10 bar (approximately 100 metres / 330 feet).

The second model, the Radiomir Viaggio nel Tempo Experience PAM01730, retains the 47 mm Radiomir case profile but is crafted in Platinumtech, a proprietary alloy containing 95% platinum.

The material is treated to achieve significantly greater hardness than standard platinum and has a density approximately 33% higher than 18-carat gold, resulting in a noticeably substantial feel on the wrist.

The polished case is fitted with a domed PLEXIGLAS crystal and a sapphire caseback.

For the first time, a black circular-brushed dial is introduced within the Radiomir collection.

Executed with a hand-applied rotational brushing technique, the surface creates subtle light effects while preserving a restrained appearance.

The sandwich construction, historically used to maximise legibility, is combined with beige Super-LumiNova and blue burnished steel hands.

The “Radiomir Panerai” inscription appears tone-on-tone at 12 o’clock, maintaining the overall sobriety of the dial.

The PAM01730 is powered by the hand-wound P.3001/10 calibre, also operating at 21,600 vibrations per hour and offering a three-day power reserve via twin barrels.

Composed of 198 components, the movement features skeletonised bridges decorated with perlage.

A power reserve indicator is positioned on the back, preserving the dial’s symmetry while allowing the remaining autonomy to be monitored through the sapphire crystal.
