Accutron Spaceview Evolution with forged carbon dials

Accutron has introduced four new Spaceview Evolution models distinguished by forged carbon dials.

Each dial features a unique surface pattern, as no two forged carbon structures are identical.

Unlike the open-worked executions of previous models, these versions adopt a closed dial design with three apertures revealing the signature spinning turbines, along with their bridges and screws.

Super-LumiNova-coated hands and round hour markers enhance legibility against the textured background.

All models are powered by Accutron’s proprietary NS30 electrostatic movement, which delivers an accuracy of ±5 seconds per month. The system generates electrostatic energy through twin turbines that rotate with wrist motion at high speed between two fixed electrodes mounted on the movement.

The energy produced is stored in an accumulator and drives two separate motors: a proprietary electrostatic motor powering the continuously sweeping seconds hand, and a stepper motor controlling the hour and minute hands.

To optimise energy consumption, the seconds hand automatically stops at 12 o’clock after five minutes of inactivity. Timekeeping continues uninterrupted, with the hour and minute hands remaining active. A brief wrist motion of three to five seconds reactivates the system, after which the seconds hand advances to the correct position and normal operation resumes.

The watches are housed in 43.5 mm cases with a thickness of 15.91 mm and are water resistant to 5 bar (50 metres / 165 feet).

Two references — 26A214 with a red dial and 26A215 with a blue dial — are presented in stainless steel cases with silver-tone bridges and blue screws. Their suggested retail price is US$4,500.

The other two versions — ref. 28A210 with a green dial and ref. 28A211 with a black dial — feature ion-plated black stainless steel cases, paired with gold-toned bridges and screws coordinated with the dial colour.
