F.P. Journe has streamlined the aesthetics of the LineSport Chronographe Rattrapante, presenting four new variations of the model.
A creation that unites sporty character with haute horlogerie refinement, the latest Chronographe Rattrapante is now available in Grade 5 titanium (two versions), 18k 6N gold, and platinum Pt950.
Measuring 44 mm in diameter and 12.1 mm thick, the case features a tachymeter bezel with ceramic inlay and houses the split-seconds chronograph movement with large date display.
Each version is paired with an integrated bracelet crafted from the same material as the case, complete with articulated links for a perfect fit and a déployante clasp adjustable by ±5 mm.
Compared to the previous edition introduced in 2018, the design has been refined by removing the rubber inserts previously used between the links and on the crown.
Each variation presents a distinct dial personality. The titanium models feature aluminium alloy dials in either yellow or slate grey, with luminescent applied numerals, sapphire-engraved chronograph counters, and luminescent hands. Despite their sizeable presence, these models remain impressively light, weighing only around 81 grams.
The 6N gold edition showcases a blackened silver guilloché dial with matte 5N gold numerals, silver counters, and matching hands. Meanwhile, the platinum model is distinguished by a silver guilloché dial in a blue-mauve hue, paired with matte white gold numerals, silver counters, and rhodiumed hands.
The chronograph functions are operated via pushers crafted in the same metal as the case: at 2 o’clock for start, stop, and reset, and at 4 o’clock for the split-seconds mechanism. The crown has three positions for winding, date correction, and time setting.
Inside beats the hand-wound Calibre 1518, oscillating at 3 Hz (21,600 vibrations per hour) and offering a power reserve of 80 hours.
The movement is produced in aluminium alloy for the titanium versions, and in 18k rose gold for the gold and platinum models. Remarkably, despite incorporating a large date, it maintains a slim profile of just 6.80 mm.
Visible through the sapphire crystal caseback, the Calibre 1518 exhibits the meticulous finishing and decoration that define F.P. Journe’s approach to haute horlogerie. True to the brand’s philosophy, each movement is assembled from start to finish by a single watchmaker.
