Tonight, the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève returns to Geneva for the 26th edition of the watch industry’s most prestigious awards ceremony. And this year marks a significant first: The GPHG ceremony will be conducted in English for the first time.

The ceremony takes place at the Bâtiment des Forces Motrices in Geneva, where the winners of 19 prizes across 14 categories, including the coveted Aiguille d’Or Grand Prix (best watch overall), will be announced. The event begins at 6:30pm in Geneva (12:30pm in Eastern Standard Time).

The move to English is part of a broader effort to make the GPHG more accessible to the global watch community. This year also brings changes to the award categories, including replacing the former men’s and women’s categories with new ones organized around the watches’ characteristics.

84 watches (78 wristwatches and 6 mechanical clocks) are nominated, and they have traveled around the world as part of the GPHG exhibition, with stops in Mumbai and Bangkok before arriving in Geneva.

The watches will be on display at Musée d’Art et d’Histoire in Geneva from October 29 to November 15, and after the ceremony, the winning watches will travel to London, where Watches of Switzerland will showcase the models in a public exhibit.
