Crafted from stainless steel, reference 1121 is the first model from the Glashütte manufacture to be powered by the DUW 4701 calibre, which features a quick-set date and a power reserve of up to 52 hours.

The new dial gives the Metro a different appearance depending on the lighting conditions, shifting from a cool light blue to an almost white tone.

Its metallic finish adds subtle reflections, while the fine minute track, marked by individual dots, preserves the contemporary design language of the introductory model.

The Metro Date Power Reserve was first introduced in 2014 and marked an important technical step for Nomos Glashütte as the first watch to feature the manufacture’s proprietary Nomos swing system, an in-house escapement.

The new Ice Blue edition continues this development with a different movement architecture, while retaining the collection’s emphasis on clean lines and functional indications.

The stainless steel case measures 37 mm in diameter and 8 mm in height, with a lug-to-lug measurement of 43.6 mm.

A domed sapphire crystal protects the dial, while a sapphire crystal case back reveals the movement.

Water resistance is rated to 5 ATM (50 metres / 330 feet), making the watch suitable for everyday exposure to splashes but not intended for swimming.

The dial is galvanised and finished in light blue metallic, with rhodium-plated hands and a light blue seconds hand.

The date and power reserve indications are integrated into the display, adding practical information without disrupting the dial’s balanced layout.

The black Horween Genuine Shell Cordovan strap is fitted with quick-change spring bars and has an 18 mm lug width.

Measuring just 2.8 mm in height and 32.1 mm in diameter, the hand-wound Nomos DUW 4701 calibre operates at a frequency of 3 Hz (21,600 vibrations per hour).

The power reserve indicator is positioned directly on the barrel, integrating the indication into the movement’s construction.

Visible through the sapphire crystal case back, the calibre features Glashütte stripes, perlage and temperature-blued screws. With 23 jewels, the movement combines a slim profile with traditional Glashütte finishing and the practical functions required for everyday use.

Nomos also offers the option of a solid caseback, ideal for a personalized engraving.
