For more than two decades, the ocean has guided Blancpain’s commitment and inspired its creativity. As the successor to the Fifty Fathoms launched in 1953, the first true modern diving watch, the new Fifty Fathoms Tech continues this legacy by meeting the demands of contemporary technical diving. Its unidirectional bezel, graduated to three hours and unveiled in 2023 on the Tech Gombessa, supports extended dives conducted with closed-circuit rebreathers. An evolution designed to give marine life time to regain its natural rhythm.
Its jet-black dial, which absorbs up to 97% of ambient light, enhances readability at depth. Dive-related indicators are highlighted by blue Super-LumiNova®, while the current time display features a green hue to prevent confusion. Crafted from Grade 23 titanium, the 47mm-diameter case is water-resistant to 300m and features a helium escape valve, underscoring its professional purpose. At the heart of this robust watch, the new Fifty Fathoms Tech, beats the self-winding in-house 13P5A caliber, derived from the 1315 caliber and offering a 120-hour power reserve. This new version features a date window and introduces a tool-free interchangeable strap system thanks to innovative central lugs. It comes on an orange rubber strap, with black and white variants available separately.
