Vintage Bulova
Starting off this week with a nice vintage Bulova dress watch. At first glance I thought it was an Accutron with the dial and hands, but it’s an automatic Bulova. The yellow gold fill case has a fancy etched bezel to go with the radial brushed dial. This gives the watch a low-key bling look that isn’t too loud. The case is in good shape, as is the dial and hands. This one is time only, no date window. The automatic Bulova caliber 11ALAC movement is clean and runs well per the seller. The watch comes on a handsome leather strap that really goes well. Great looking piece with a high quality movement that should be reasonably priced at hammer time.
Vintage Omega Speedmaster Professional
Here’s one that will not be easy on the wallet, but a vintage Omega Speedmaster is worth the money, it’s all that and a bag of chips. This example is from the late 1970s/early 1980s and is likely a ref 144.022, but don’t hold me to it as there are no pictures of the inside caseback or the movement. The iconic case looks unpolished with razor sharp edges on the bombe lugs. The tachymetre bezel is also in superb condition. The black dial looks original and super clean, with nicely aged lume on the hour markers. This will have a manual wind Omega caliber 861 movement, which is a superb workhorse movement. This beauty comes on the original Omega steel bracelet with a signed buckle. It looks like the buckle is missing a spring bar, but that’s an easy fix. It also comes with an original box and the warranty booklet. This is as clean a Speedmaster as you will find on eBay. If you’ve got a hankerin’ for one, give this one a loooong look.
Vintage Wittnauer Geneve Super Compressor
Next up is another killer piece, a vintage Wittnauer Geneve Super Compressor diver. There are close to 100 different brands that used the iconic EPSA Super Compressor cases, in two different sizes, 36mm and 41mm. This beauty is the 36mm variety, and one of the best looking versions if you ask me. The fat lugs have nice, bold chamfers on them that give the case a really beefy look. The black dial is clean and has a great style, with nicely aged lume hour markers and matching lume plots in the large steel hands. The crystal looks original, with the correct internal date magnifier window. The large dual crowns are original and correct, with both the EPSA cross-hatching and the Wittnauer “W” logo on them. This diver comes on a nice modern beads of rice bracelet that looks sharp. The Wittnauer automatic movement is clean and runs well per the seller. Yes, the starting price is high, but that’s about what a solid vintage Super Compressor usually goes for.
Vintage Caravelle Sea Hunter Devil Diver
Got another killer vintage diver for you, this time a Caravelle Sea Hunter “Devil Diver”. This model is quite popular with collectors, so much so that Caravelle reissued it as a modern “heritage” model. The steel case shows some wear from use, but doesn’t appear to be polished. These are about 36mm if memory serves although the seller doesn’t state the size. Classic skin diver case/lugs, with a black aluminum elapsed time diver’s bezel insert which is in great condition. The black dial is clean, with nicely aged lume hour markers with the 12, 3, 6, 9 markers as Arabic numerals. No date window. Nice lume filled dauphine hands. Overall a classic diver with a robust Caravelle (Bulova) automatic movement. Sadly there are no pictures of said movement, but the watch runs well per the seller. The large crown is original and signed with the Caravelle “C” logo as it should.
Rado Golden Horse
Here’s a great vintage Rado Golden Horse sporty watch. I’ve always loved the design of this watch. Classically styled steel case with large lugs, and a really cool and large deeply engraved double seahorse emblem on the case back. The case looks unpolished, with some nicks from daily wear per the seller. The silver dial is clean, with applied steel markers and steel dauphine hands. There is an applied double seahorse logo above the 6, and the cool rotating anchor logo below the 12. There is a date window at 3, and the original acrylic crystal has the internal date magnifier window. The original crown also has the Rado logo on it as it should. The automatic movement is clean and runs well per the seller. The watch comes with the original Rado beads of rice bracelet with a signed buckle, and an additional vintage steel bracelet as a bonus. Great looking piece here!
Vintage Omega Constellation
Going to finish strong this week with a brilliant vintage Omega Constellation in solid 14k yellow gold! These vintage Constellations are real works of art, well made and beautifully designed. This example has a 37mm solid yellow gold case which is in superb condition, with the classic “dog-leg” lugs. The observatory case back logo is nice and clear. The yellow gold dial looks original and is super clean, with yellow gold applied baton markers and yellow gold dauphine hands. No date window to mar the beautiful symmetry. The crown is signed with the Omega logo. The Omega automatic caliber 551 Chronometer grade movement is clean and running well per the seller. Just a superb vintage Omega in solid gold!
