Vintage Omega
First up this week we have a nice vintage Omega presentation watch. The simple steel case is 35mm with slim, straight lugs that are crisp and unpolished. There is an award presentation engraving on the back for 25 years of service with the Dow Chemical Company, dated 1976. The dial is the classic Omega silver, with slim steel markers and hands and a day/date window at 3 o’clock. The dial is also signed with the Dow Chemical logo, which is not too common with Omegas. The crown is original and signed with the Omega symbol as it should. The Omega automatic caliber 1022 movement is clean and runs well per the seller. Really neat vintage Omega award watch.
Vintage Hamilton Thin-O-Matic
Here’s another cool vintage award presentation watch, this time a Hamilton Thin-O-Matic Masterpiece from 1964. The 10k yellow gold fill case looks nice and unpolished, thin lugs. The back has an engraving for 25 years of service to the Nationwide Insurance company. The gold colored dial is clean and simple with applied gold markers and no date window. This gem comes complete with the inner and outer boxes and all the paperwork, including the instructions and guarantee papers. The watch comes on a Kreisler stretch band that apparently is original as there are instruction and guarantee papers for the band, which I’ve never seen before! No movement pictures but it runs well per the seller. Awesome full-kit piece!
Vintage Bulova 1963 Accutron
Next up is a sweet vintage Accutron from 1963 with a caliber 214 tuning fork movement. The 35mm round steel case is excellent, sharp and unpolished with stubby lugs typical of these older Accutrons. The caseback of course has the battery hatch as well as the flip up “crown” for adjusting the time, with no conventional crown on the side of the case. The gold/champagne dial is clean with nice, faceted applied steel markers, with no date window. The watch comes on a funky Speidel stretch bracelet, but swap that out for a nice leather strap and you’ll be good to go. The caliber 214 tuning fork movement runs well per the seller.
Vintage Glycine Airman
This vintage Glycine Airman is a really cool one. These were made for military pilots and are harder to find in nice shape for auction. This example is in excellent condition. The steel case looks unpolished, and the 24 hour bezel has minimal wear. The black dial has nicely aged lume, and it also has a 24 hour outer track for keeping tabs on multiple time zones. There is a date window at 3 o’clock, and the original acrylic crystal has an internal date magnifier window. There is a second crown at 4 o’clock that is used to lock the bezel in place. Overall great condition for this scarce pilot’s watch. This one even comes with the original wooden box and original receipt from Glycine dated 1969! Super cool. No movement pictures but the video in the listing clearly shows the watch ticking away smoothly.
Vintage Omega Seamaster
Next up is a nice, later model vintage Omega Seamaster, a model you scarcely see. This example has a square cushion style case in steel, with an integrated steel bracelet. The 35mm steel case is superb, unpolished with sharp edges and the original mix of brushed and polished finishes. The watch has the original hi-hat style acrylic crystal, and I can just make out the little Omega symbol in the middle of the crystal. The silver dial is clean, with applied steel stick markers and stick hands, and a day/date window at 3 o’clock. The original crown is slightly recessed, and is signed with the Omega symbol. The integrated bracelet is also super clean, and the buckle is of course signed with the Omega symbol. Sadly no pictures of the Omega automatic caliber 1020 movement, but it runs well per the seller.
Vintage Bulova “666” Surfboard
Another strong finish this week with a highly sought-after vintage Bulova 666ft “Surfboard” dial chronograph diver. The Surfboard has to be one of the all-time best looking chrono-divers ever, I absolutely love them. I have an example in my collection, and can attest that they are even better in person! This example is not perfect, but it is really nice. The large steel cushion case is clean with sharp edges and original brushed finish. The aluminum countdown diver’s bezel is original and is faded to give it that classic and desirable “ghost bezel” look. The dial and hands are pretty clean, with a touch of patina. The crown is signed with the Bulova Accutron symbol, but it is a service replacement as the original would be signed “Bulova” in tiny text. There are no movement pictures, but the seller states it was serviced this year and runs and works properly. This should be a Valjoux 7733 manual wind movement, as that is what my example has and I don’t think they used a variety of movements in these.
