Lightweight materials, dazzling diamonds, and eye-catching dials: the transition from spring to summer is smooth and effortless, all powered by a new in-house movement.
Born in 1993 from the bold pencil strokes of Emmanuel Gueit, a young designer just as daring, the Royal Oak Offshore watch is intended to be an XXL sporty version of its big sister, the iconic Royal Oak. Over the years, this must-have Audemars Piguet collection has expanded while maintaining its status as an elegant sports watch, and now features three new Royal Oak Offshore Selfwinding Chronograph models that combine lightweight materials, dazzling diamonds, and dials in rich, vibrant hues.
The trio is powered by Caliber 6401, a 4hz automatic in-house movement introduced earlier this year. It is wound by the oscillating motion of its 22-carat rose gold rotor, which has been treated with NAC to achieve an intense anthracite color, and offers a power reserve of approximately 55 hours.
This brand-new movement is housed in 37mm-diameter, 11.5mm-thick cases machined from titanium, with or without diamonds on the famous octagonal bezel, or in rose gold adorned with a band of 32 brilliant-cut diamonds, depending on the version chosen. As for the dial, it features the famous checkered Tapisserie pattern in candy pink, soft turquoise, or sky blue, colors that also appear on the three subdials: the chronograph’s minute and hour counters at 9 o’clock and 3 o’clock, respectively, and the small seconds subdial at 6 o’clock, which incorporates the date window displaying the date in black on a white background. The large raised Arabic numerals, like the central hands, are coated with luminescent material for quick readability even in low light.
