Longines has expanded its Conquest Heritage Central Power Reserve collection with a new light blue opaline dial, two years after introducing the model to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Conquest collection.
As we noted in our hands-on review of the launch edition, the model revives one of the most unusual complications developed by Longines: a central power reserve display inspired by a rare watch introduced in 1959.
The 2026 edition preserves the same technical and aesthetic concept while introducing a fresh light blue opaline dial, available with either a stainless steel bracelet or a grey leather strap.
Originally introduced in 1954, the Conquest was the first Longines collection to have its name officially protected by the Swiss Federal Intellectual Property Office. Five years later, the brand unveiled a model featuring a central power reserve indication, a distinctive complication developed in-house and used exclusively by Longines.
Rather than relying on a conventional power reserve scale, the Conquest Heritage Central Power Reserve displays the remaining energy through two rotating discs positioned at the centre of the dial.
A baton-shaped indicator points to an outer graduated disc marked from 64 to 0 hours. As the watch is worn or wound, the disc rotates continuously, providing an intuitive indication of the remaining autonomy while adding a subtle sense of motion to the display.
The new light blue opaline dial gives the watch a contemporary appearance while respecting the refined proportions of the original design. Its domed surface is complemented by twelve faceted rhodium-plated applied indexes and polished “sky-scraper” style hour and minute hands filled with Super-LumiNova for improved legibility in low-light conditions.
A slender baton seconds hand completes the display, while the date aperture remains positioned at 12 o’clock beneath its distinctive trapezoidal applied frame.
Driving the watch is the exclusive Longines calibre L896.5, a self-winding movement operating at 25,200 vibrations per hour (3.5 Hz).
Equipped with a silicon balance spring and resistant to magnetic fields in accordance with ISO 764, the movement incorporates 21 jewels and provides a power reserve of up to 72 hours.
Visible through the transparent sapphire caseback, it represents a modern evolution of the historical concept while maintaining the collection’s vintage character.
The stainless steel case measures 38 mm in diameter, 12.30 mm in thickness and 45.60 mm from lug to lug.
Protected by a box-shaped sapphire crystal with multi-layer anti-reflective coating on both sides, it features a screw-down sapphire caseback and offers water resistance to 5 bar (50 metres / 165 feet).
Longines offers the new model in two configurations. The Ref. L1.648.4.92.6 is paired with a stainless steel bracelet fitted with a double-folding safety clasp featuring push-button release and a micro-adjustment system, while the Ref. L1.648.4.92.2 comes on a grey alligator leather strap secured by a heritage-style pin buckle.
The Longines Conquest Heritage Central Power Reserve Ref. L1.648.4.92.6 is priced at €4,450, while the Longines Conquest Heritage Central Power Reserve Ref. L1.648.4.92.2 is available for €4,300. longines.com
