FOR THE MAN THAT’S AS FAST AS LIGHTNING

This sporty-looking chronograph, issued in a 200-piece limited series showcases the historic feat its ambassador pulled off in the German capital in 2009.

Berlin hosted the World Athletics Championships over 15 years ago. Usain Bolt, at the peak of his career, set a new 100-meter record of 9.58 seconds during the competition. To celebrate this event, and the fifteen years that have seen the athlete partner with the brand as an ambassador, Hublot unveils its Big Bang Reloaded Usain Bolt Ceramic Carbon. The signature openworked scenography of the collection’s chronographs reigns here inside a 44 mm-diameter ceramic case sealed by a carbon back. The hour chapter stand out, however, with its surprising set of numbers. A reversed 5 slips in between the 6 and the 8. When read upside-down, this trio’s a tip of the hat to the sprinter’s unforgettable run.

Inside this wonderfully-layered black backdrop, the short-cycle time measurement display takes on the colors of Jamaica. The lightning-bolt-shaped direct drive conjures up the sportsman’s nickname. Everything’s encircled by a frosted carbon bezel fastened by six yellow gold screws. The same precious metal was also used to craft the case middle engraved with the motto Anything is Possible. Don’t Think Limits dear to the athlete.

The time data’s driven by the automatic Unico HUB 1280 caliber. This flyback chronograph movement delivers a power reserve of 72 hours. Its oscillating weight’s also set apart with its bolt-shaped motif made from a sample of soil taken from the runner’s training track. This edition’s ready to savor every moment of everyday life, whether it’s wrapped round the wrist with a Velcro®-attached textile strap or a rubber alternative.
